[ Eva Leon ]
Artworks Created: Sea Dolphins.
Eva was born in Kempsey, and moved to Forster when she was sixteen.
At eighteen she moved to Sydney and remained there for thirty-three years before moving back to Forster. While she was in Sydney, Eva studied fashion and retail at TAFE. Eva has been at Tobwabba now for three years. She came to work at Tobwabba when the CDEP program began, more for something to do than because she was particularly interested in art. Eva discovered that she enjoyed painting, and also that she had a lot of talent.
"A lot of people didn't realise they had the talent - I didn't know. Knowing you have talent makes a lot of difference. I have more confidence in my work."
Eva has no particular preference for colours, and enjoys experimenting with different styles. For the future, Eva wants to see Tobwabba continue to grow, and to be really successful in the future. In time, she would like to see the kids from the Aboriginal community get involved in Tobwabba.
For herself, Eva wants to continue to develop her skills and continue to enjoy and learn more about her work.
