[ Warren Donnelly (Bud) ]
Bud was doing a CABE course when Tobwabba began in 1992. He saw the course in Aboriginal art and culture as something altogether different to do.
He has discovered that he really enjoys the artwork, as well as working in an Aboriginal workplace. His new knowledge of Aboriginal culture is also very valuable, although Bud would still like to learn more along these lines.
In the beginning Bud found his initial art skills very difficult to establish. Once established however, Bud found that the transition to design work from art was not too difficult.
Bud usually creates designs in the same earthy colours he uses in his paintings. Bud believes that Tobwabba's success has created pride within the Aboriginal community and more respect from the wider community.
"Now they see us doing something, making a go of something."
Bud wants to stay with Tobwabba, and hopefully make a more regular income from his art. He thinks Tobwabba should expand its retail space, perhaps to a gallery on the highway where more paintings could be sold.
He would also like Tobwabba Art to become an independent company.
